Day 6 Details
5.6 miles Time: 3:26

A downhill day (steep at first, easier at the end). Stop on the way at Clear Creek (the Rocky Mountain Fur Company) for the "best water at Philmont."
Reach Clear Creek after about 2 miles of steep downhill. Plan to spend some time there (waiting) for black powder rifle shooting and visiting the Rocky Mountain Fur Company. Continue down the easy and scenic Rayado Creek valley to Comanche Creek Camp.
Destination Info
Comanche Creek is a trail camp with water (relatively) nearby.
Activities Enroute
Clear Creek hosts the Rocky Mountain Fur Company with a cabin tour, black powder rifle shooting, and an evening show about fur trapping. On this itinerary, the evening show is probably impractical. Be aware that crews staying at Clear Creek have priority for black powder rifle shooting - transit crews may not have time to shoot.
