This is a serious hiking day with the summit of one of Philmont's signature peaks (Trail Peak). The first 2 miles is gentle rolling trail, then begin serious climbing: gain 1,000 feet in 2-1/2 miles. A tough climb with the reward of excellent views. Finally drop 2,000 feet in 2 miles to Crater Lake.

Climb Trail Peak and visit the WWII B-24 bomber wreckage.
