Cito Turnaround
Trailhead
Elevation 7,159 ft
Description
Cito TA is a trailhead - you will either be dropped off here by bus from Camping Headquarters on your first trail day, or picked up by bus on your last trail day.
Activities
If this is your first day on the trail, your ranger will be training you on the Philmont way of backpacking. Your objective is to learn all she has to teach and get to your first night's camp safely. If this is the end of your last day on the trail, settle in and wait for a bus.
Water
Water is generally not available at trailheads - leave Camping Headquarters (or your last camp) with enough water for the day.
Nearby Camps
There are no staffed camps near Cito Turnaround.
Trails
Most turnarounds have a confusion of trails leading nowhere. The trail to the west heads ultimately to Cathedral Rock Camp. Going north takes you to Ute Springs.
