Commissary
Elevation 7, 910 ft
Ute Gulch is a commissary and trading post only - no camping. The main commissary building is at the end of a short spur up from the dirt road connecting Camping Headquarters and Ute Park Pass. The staff cabin is further uphill to the southeast.
Purified water is available near the commissary building.
There are no other camps near Ute Gulch.
As usual at Philmont, you will want to avoid hiking for any distance on the dirt road, especially in this case where there is an easy, pleasant trail that parallels the road. The trail to the south leads to Aspen Springs and Ute Springs. The northern trail takes you to Devils Wash Basin and Deer Lake Mesa.
