Red Hills has good, largely shaded and flat campsites scattered along the banks of Comanche Creek. It's the closest reliable source of water to Mt Phillips Camp.
There's usually pleanty of water to purify in Comanche Creek.
There are no staffed camps near Red Hills.
At the north end of the camp, a north-to-northwest trending trail leads to Mt Phillips and Comanche Peak. The northeast-bearing trail is the easier, but slightly longer, route to Big Red. At the south end of camp, the southwest trail follows Comanche Creek to Rayado Creek. The esatward trail is a shorter, but rougher and steeper, path to Big Red.
