Description
Crooked Creek is a recreated homestead in a pretty valley with trickling Crooked Creek flowing through. The main cabin is up a slight hill above the trail. Campsites are in the trees to the west of the main cabin.

Homesteading, cabin tour.
Water
There is usually water in Crooked Creek to wash clothes. Drinking water comes from a slow-flowing spring about 1/2 mile to the east of the main cabin. It must be purified.

Trails
Crooked Creek lies on the crossbar of an "H" of trails. To the east, the trail following Rayado Creek runs north to Clear Creek and south to Phillips Junction. To the west, the trail following the Philmont property line runs north to Wild Horse and on to Clear Creek and south to Apache Springs.
